PRIMA CORD

Metal belt for complex or extremely testing operational environments

Hi-tech belt particularly suited to conveyors subject to high levels of stress — frequent stops and starts, impacts, cuts, and tears — and for conveyors with a winding curve where traditional solutions are unsuitable. Constructed with closely-spaced small diameter steel warp cords coated in a very elastic rubber layer and protected by two metal wefts using very high elasticity weft cords.

  • Two metal weft protection layer
  • Available in 4×7 (curved conveyors) & 7×7 (high-speed)
  • Resistance to repeated impacts and stops/starts
  • Penetration resistance by external objects
  • Suitable for mechanical splicing and small drum diameters

PRIMA CORD Variant · Single Weft

PRIMA TRANS

Single weft version of PRIMA CORD for targeted upper compound protection

A specialised version of the PRIMA CORD design, featuring a single metal weft that protects the warp cords in the upper compound area. Available in both 4×7 warp cord (for conveyors operating on curves in the horizontal and/or vertical plane) and 7×7 warp cord (for large centre distance and high-speed operation).

  • Single metal weft in upper compound area
  • 4×7 cords — median elongation, curved conveyors
  • 7×7 cords — low elongation, long centre distance
  • Excellent bond strength via hot vulcanising
  • Suitable for mechanical splicing

EP and PP multi-ply and single-layer belts for all operating conditions

EP / PP · Multi-Ply

PRIMA PLY

EP or PP textile belts for moderate to extremely challenging operating conditions

Used for the transportation of bulk materials in all extractive and processing industries. PRIMA PLY EP belts (polyester warp and polyamide weft) are the most widely used, providing excellent rupture resistance and reduced elongation under loading for short-course tensioned systems. PRIMA PLY PP belts (polyamide in both warp and weft) are used for special applications requiring significant elongation in both directions — long drops, small diameter drums, or short trough transitions.

  • EP type: polyester warp + polyamide weft (most widely used)
  • PP type: polyamide warp & weft for high-elongation applications
  • Available in 2 to 5 ply constructions
  • Resistance range: 250 – 3,150 N/mm
  • Excellent resistance to multiple stress types

PRIMA FLEX belt in trough
EPP · Single Layer · Low Elongation

PRIMA FLEX

EPP textile belts for extreme operational conditions and low elongation values

Single layer EPP textile belts with excellent resistance to cuts, tears, and impacts — designed for conveyors subject to very significant stress. The specific combination of warp and weft threads guarantees reduced elongation under loading, stability in the lengthwise direction, excellent impact resistance, and excellent troughability. Particularly well-suited for short tension course conveyors and small drum diameter applications.

  • Elongation reduced 30% vs traditional textile belt
  • Excellent resistance to cuts, tears, and impacts
  • Excellent troughability and guiding properties
  • Suitable for conveyors with short tension course
  • Compatible with mechanical splicing and hot vulcanising

PRIMA ROCK belt with metal shield
PRIMA ROCK belt construction diagram
Metal Shield · Textile Carcass

PRIMA ROCK

A textile belt equipped with a metal shield to withstand difficult operating conditions

Used on conveyors in difficult operational conditions where cuts, tears, and repeated impacts are a constant challenge. A special protective layer of steel weft cords is superimposed on the textile carcass, spreading impact stress forces more evenly across the belt. The protective layer is both tough and highly elastic — it not only protects against damage but also delivers excellent troughability. Cord type and spacing between cords can be tailored to suit specific conveyor operating conditions.

  • Steel weft cord protective layer superimposed on textile carcass
  • Better distribution of stresses upon impact
  • Protection of the body against tears
  • Excellent troughability maintained
  • Cord type and spacing tailored to operating conditions
  • Suitable for mechanical splicing

PRIMA STABLE belt cross-section
PRIMA STABLE self-centring belt construction diagram
Self-Centring · Alignment Solution

PRIMA STABLE

A belt that is naturally self-centring on the conveyor

Provides the solution to belt alignment problems through a unique body design that creates a naturally self-centring effect. Particularly suited to mobile and reversible equipment where offset problems are most frequent, and conveyors operating on a curve. Suited to carrying roller stations with 3 rollers and able to operate with trough angles from 35° to more than 60°. Requires no additional alignment device — installation and maintenance are conventional.

  • Naturally self-centring belt body
  • Trough angles: 35° to more than 60° (up to 90°)
  • Ideal for reversible and mobile conveyors
  • Reduces material loss due to belt offset
  • No additional alignment device required
  • Available in textile and metal versions
